Phlox carolina 'Bill Baker' This species flowers a lot earlier than the common border Phloxes. In June it is a mass of large, pink flat saucer flowers. The foliage is identical to that of the named varieties of Penstemon. Requires a moisture retentive soil. A lovely plant & one which which Bill Baker himself reckons is the best of all his introductions. Easy and unfussy, but not a dry sandy soil.
